You are cordially invited to participate in the regional meeting of the Tri-State Chapter of International Society of Exposure Science. The meeting is scheduled from 3:30 – 6:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2013. The meeting will be held at Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI), Rutgers University. The meeting can be simultaneously attended at Clarkson University, a satellite meeting site. The two meeting sites will be communicated through teleconference techniques.

This meeting is free, and onsite registration is acceptable. Please contact Dr. Qingyu Meng as soon as possible if you need a temporary Rutgers parking permit for the meeting.

A brief agenda for the meeting:

  • Updating the Chapter affairs
  • Keynote Presentation on the role of Exposure Science in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy – Dr. Nicky Sheats from Thomas Edison State College
  • High School Student Presentation of the EPA Science-Citizen Project
  • Poster presentations by graduate students

The meeting also offers a small-scale setting for graduate students to present their research. Instructions for poster abstracts and presentations are attached. The abstracts will be formatted and published on our upcoming website; and each student will do a 3 minutes oral presentation to briefly introduce the poster at the meeting. Here are the key dates for the graduate student poster session:

  • May 1 — Poster abstract due
  • May 7 — Electronic copy of the poster due
  • May 10 — Poster presentation day

Poster guidelines:

Abstract: Please send the abstract to Ms. Kyung Sul (sulk@clarkson.edu) by May 1. Your abstract will be formatted and published on our new website. A suggested structure for your abstractis: Title, Background, Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions. The text of the abstract is limited to 250 words, including the title. Do not include tables or figures.

Poster Presentation: Each student will do a 3 minutes oral presentation to briefly introduce the poster at the meeting. To facilitate poster evaluation, please send an electronic copy of your poster to Ms. Kyung Sul (sulk@clarkson.edu) by May 7. Your poster will be print out on letter size paper as handout and will be available for poster evaluators and the audience.
